It lacks a decent multi-tasking (coming soon) and it doesn't run a "windows" OS. On the other hand, it is thin, elegant, takes 1 second to open or close, the touch screen is amazing, the user interface is perfect and battery time lasts like forever... I got one a few weeks ago, and i have not been able to put it down. you can use it as a laptop if you get the right apps such a documents to go, or pages numbers or keynote. I think the ipad is better because they are more portable, you can get 3G coverage or wifi on them, they are for work and games, they have loads of apps, and because they are just plain awesome!!! in case you need to know, the ipads do not yet have a camera. they have a hole and frame for a camera at the top, which you will notice if you get one, but there is not camera yet. On the ipads, you can go on the internet, view photos, play music, play games, and view emails. If you do not have a computer already don't get the ipad, because you can't even turnit on until you sinc it. It just says connect to a computer.
