It is now considered the fastest-selling electronic device ever, having outpaced the DVD player, which sold 350,000 the first year it was released, and even the iPhone, which sold 1 million in its first quarter. The iPad, which allows users to do a variety of things, like get on the Internet, enjoy books and magazines with splashy layouts, send text messages, and play games and music, has sold more than 3 million units in less than three months, according to an analysis by Bernstein Research.
